Lake of Menteith fishing report by Quint

Lake of Menteith
Report 10/04/18 Clarity 2.7m Water Temp 6ft 5C

A brief respite and then a return to easterlies haven’t put the fish off at the Lake this week – although things look set to turn milder (mid-teens ) at the weekend. Good drifts remain Hotel Bay to Reedy Point, Lochend to the Butts and out from Kates Brae.

Successful tactics were washing line buzzers or dries (yesterday) and buzzers or pulling/short lining cormorants with a booby in front of rising fish (today). Some boat catches in the high twenties today.

Fraser Young returned this 9 pounder on Saturday. Shane Kelly up from the Borders with a nice brown on Sunday.

Also on Sunday, 5 year old Louise caught her first Lake trout on a booby beside the boat. Proud father Boo was having more success on the buzzers.
