5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The cold, snowy weather led to a quiet week at Swanswater.  Those who ventured out from Tuesday to Saturday all caught fish. The beginning and end of the week were a bit harder with the water temperature sitting at 2oC and the fish deep in the water. The aerators were on overnight on the coldest nights and managed to keep most of the ponds relatively ice free. The area around the dam was the most productive for most of the week. It was a good start to the year for regular angler, Ian Whitelaw, who landed a cracking 11lb 10oz Rainbow in his bag of 5 for 24lb. Most fish were taken on lures such as Dancer, Cat’s Whisker, Humungus and Fritz patterns, with Bloodworm, Buzzers and Damsel also taking a few.

6. WOODBURN (Milton of Campsie) There are still a lot of fish on top of the water for this time of the year and fish can be seen right in at side feeding on the stickle backs. Those fishing Buzzers and small lures have been well rewarded with the White and Green Rabbit taking plenty of fish.
