Had a phone call yesterday from a customer who had been fishing Loch Venacher at the week end, after setting up his gear and fishing for a while he decided to go for a wonder and speak to the other fisher people to see how they were getting on, the upshot of the call was to inform me that nobody had caught a thing ! he said he spoke to about 30 people and nobody had caught anything  :(  I told him I completely sympathized with him, that Venacher had not been stocked for 4/5 years.
 It is such a shame that none of the forestry commission waters are stocked, even though we collect permit money for them, none goes back to restocking. The national park are spending hundreds of thousands of pounds doing up the car parks and putting in designated camping  sites but are doing nothing to restock all of these fantastic waters we have at our door step !!
Eventually with the way things are going there will be no fish left in the Trossachs national park, with all the natural predators taking fish and the park trying to encourage more visitors to visit the area we will clean the place out !
Loch Ard and Loch Earn are the only two waters in the Trossachs National park that are stocked with brown trout !
I think this is a shocking state of affairs !
