4. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) There was fantastic sport last week with an abundance of life on the water resulting in the smaller more natural flies giving great sport. Arnott, Perth, 2 for 6lbs on Buzzers and Graham King from Almondbank used a Silver Invicta to bag 2 for 6lbs.A. Stan Guzik from Sauchie used Buzzers to catch a couple that tipped the scales at 6lbs 12oz.

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) It was another good week with the fish very close to the surface most of the time.   On the sunnier days, Friday and Sunday, although it was nice to be out and about, the fishing was a bit harder.   The large hatches of small black flies have now disappeared to be replaced by mayflies, hawthorns and alders.   The fish were taking a variety of small lures, nymphs and wets, with fewer taking dry flies than the previous week.   One fish actually took two flies at the same time – a damsel and a fry pattern - fished by different anglers, one either side of the big tree; one angler let his line go slack, the other landed the fish and they tossed to see who kept it.   Both flies were still in the fish’s mouth!    The fish were well spread out round the pond and were even being taken right up in the shallows at the top end, which is a great source of hatching flies.    Tigers and Browns continue to be caught in large numbers, a lot of them near to the margins.
Stephen Mason and young son, Jordan, Cumbernauld, shared 6 for 18lb 8oz, Frank Barr, Falkirk, 5 for 13lb including a Brown and a Tiger, Davy McMann, Glasgow, 4 for 14lb including a Blue, Aaron Kirkwood, 4 for 11lb 8oz including 2 Browns and William Bruce, Beith, 4 for 10lb 12oz including 3 Blues and a Tiger. Stewart Sutherland, 4 for 10lb including a Blue, 2 Tigers and a Brown, Martin Kay, Denny, 3 for 11lb including 4lb 12oz Blue, Ryan Potts, Inchinnan, 3 for 10lb 2oz including a Blue and a Tiger, Willie Lambie, Falkirk, 3 for 9lb 8oz and Carlo Pezzani, Stirling, 3 for 8lb 12oz including a Blue and a Tiger. Billy Weir, Bannockburn, 3 Tigers for 8lb 8oz, Stuart Malcolm, Stirling, 3 for 8lb including 2 Tigers and a Brown, T Innes 2 for 7lb 12oz including 4lb 8oz Tiger, Kris Elliot, Stirling, 2 for 6lb 12oz including a Blue and David Milne, Falkirk, 2 Blues for 6lb. Jim Craig, Balloch, 4lb 4oz Rainbow and Ian Munro caught and returned 12.

 6. WOODBURN (Milton of Campsie) There have been some great hatches of buzzers coming off at the fishery with dark coloured imitatives doing best – black, brown and dark grey are good. Other good fly patterns have been the Yellow Dancer, Ace of Spades, Ally McCoist and the Damsel Nymph. On the bait front maggot and worm are both working well. Last week Pat Hart from Bishopbriggs took 3 for 7lbs 8oz, Rod Stewart, Lenzie, had 6 on C+R, Alan Henderson, Glasgow, 4 for 8lbs 9oz and Alan Tanner from Kirkintilloch had 1 at 2lbs. Also doing well was Davy Cairns from Kilsyth who took a beauty of 3lbs 2oz and George McKean from Kirkintilloch had a brace weighing 4lbs.
