4. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) After the wind dropped on Friday evening it was great to see such a great rise of trout taking flies off the surface. The depth the fish have been taking most of the time depends on how strong the wind is on the surface.   A wide variety of flies have been catching again including the Damsel, Bloodworm, Diawl Bach, Buzzers, Daddies and various Fritz patterns.

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) A week of light overnight frosts and sunny days meant the fish were around the dam area in the mornings, moving to the channel and far bay as the day went on and the wind got up.   Towards the end of the week, there was a cooler east wind and the fish went a bit deeper.   The Tigers and Browns are still looking to follow flies right in to the margins and anglers leaving their flies in the water right to the edge have been successful if catching these lovely fish.   Once again the two small ponds fished well, especially when it was a bit windier on Swanswater.    The most successful patterns were small lures and nymphs with Hot-head Damsel, Yellow Dancer, Cat’s Whisker, Diawl Bach, Cormorant, PTN, Montana and Buzzer being the most popular.   Fish were also being taken on wet flies such as Kate McLaren, Black Spider and Bibio. The Fishery is currently open from 8.00am to 9.00pm every day.
