Issued by Jim Boyd on behalf of the following fisheries on Monday 23 September
2013.The following report is for the week ending Sunday, 22 September 2103.

A/C took 11 fish for 20lb and released 4, Brax A/C had 8 fish weighing 17lb 6oz,

Damsels and Muddlers whilst the best fishing areas were the North Shore, the
Middle and the Dam Wall.
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) It was a busy week at Forbes of
Kingennie with lots of anglers fishing the Burnside Pool and a lot of fish getting
caught on a number of different methods. Black buzzers have been the most
consistent flies but most flies are catching once the fish come on the feed. Hares
Ears, Blobs, small Cats and Bloodworms have also been popular. Mr Barlow had a
great morning on Saturday returning 15 fish in just 2 hours on Buzzers and a small
Muddler. Mr Sheppard had an equally good evening returning 16 fish in under 4
hours on a mixture of nymphs. Mr Hues had the largest fish of the week with a 5lb
2oz rainbow taken on a Damsel Nymph. The Boathouse is still extremely clear and
the fishing has been challenging with small flies and a delicate presentation being
the key to catching. Mr Bairner did well on Saturday taking 4 fish for 18lb 12oz with
a brownie at 4lb 11oz all taken on different flies. The Woodside has fished very
well all week now that the water levels are nearly back to normal. Ledgered green
or orange Powerbait is still the most successful method with spinners also taking
a lot of fish. Mr Watson had a great day taking a 3lb brown, 2lb blue and 2 smaller
rainbows. Mr McAndrew took 4 fish for 8lb 4oz fishing small spinners.
As work has now started on deepening the Bankside please check the Forbes of
Kingennie sports page for photos and updates on the work taking place.

with E Irvine from Edinburgh bagging one at 15lbs on a Green Nymph, Bruce Hunter
from Edinburgh had one at 13lbs 8oz on an Olive Lure and his son Martin used the
same pattern to land a nice one that tipped the scales at 10lbs 8oz.J Fulton from

forecast which turned out not to be half as bad as predicted and they were well
rewarded by catching 20 fish for 45lbs with the heaviest basket going to J Morrison

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) As water temperatures continued to cool and conditions
got better and better, the week saw the best returns for a very long time! The fish
are well spread out and sitting in the top two feet of the water. In general they were
taking a wide variety of flies, but preferred something with a fairly fast retrieve just
under the surface, rather than on the top. Favourite patterns this week included
Dancer, Ace of Spades, Cat’s Whisker, Cormorant, Diawl Bach, Damsel, PTN,
Hare’s Ear, Montana and Buzzer. Some Tigers are still sitting in the area around
the mouth of the burn, but they are now being taken all round the pond, with a few
big ones being seen at the dam wall. Several big Tigers feature in the catch returns
along with plenty of Blues and some good sized Rainbows. The Fishery is now open
