2.  FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) The more settled weather has
seen good numbers of anglers at Kingennie. Catches have been steady on the
Boathouse Pool with fish averaging 5lbs. However, Mr. Robson took two rainbows
for 12lbs 120z. Most fish have fallen to lures but some have been taken on Buzzers.
The  Burnside Pool is really improving and water clarity is superb. Ian Barlow
returned 15 fish taken on Buzzers and Mr. Grant had a nice rainbow of 3lbs 4oz
amongst others, taken on a Pink Panther. Other successful patterns have been
Yellow Dancer, Humungus and various versions of the Diawl Bach. There has again
been a large amount of surface activity on the Bankside Pool but the fish have been
far from easy to catch. Dry flies, Buzzers and lures have all taken fish with CDCs and
Orange Snatchers also having some success. Mr. Davie took a rainbow of 4lbs 4oz
while Mr. Milne landed two for a total of 7lbs 10ozs. Craig Dixon returned 10 taken
on a mixture of Buzzers and dries. The water-level is low at present in the Woodside

Durie Lodge group landed 33 fish for 43lbs. Green Powerbait again well out fished all
other baits although a couple of good fish were caught on spinners.

available the fish are being very picky and slow take but the Diawl Bach, Buzzers,

5. SWANSWATER (Stirling) A week of mixed weather saw a week of mixed fishing
conditions at Swanswater.    The fish were still sitting around 2 to 4 feet down in
the water, although there were occasional rises, especially later in the evenings.
Buzzers were definitely the most popular pattern this week, taking a large number of
fish.   A wide range of other flies were also taking with everything from Cat’s Whisker
and Dancer, through Diawl Bach, Cormorant, Viva, Snatcher and Kate McLaren to
Sedge, Midge and Hopper being successful.    Fish were well spread out around
the main part of Swanswater with Tigers and some Blues favouring the burn area.
Once again the small ponds provided some great sport for those choosing to fish
them. From Monday 1st July, the Fishery will be offering catch and release on all
ponds. Sporting tickets will be available on all ponds, all day and evenings, Monday
to Friday.   At weekends catch and release will be allowed on the small ponds at all
times and on Swanswater in the evenings.   Prices start at £10.   Please contact the
Fishery for further details.
