1. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry)Thankfully we appear at last to be

easing into Spring. By Sunday a more acceptable westerly breeze has taken

over and temperatures are increasing. Surprisingly, however, there were two

days during the week when exceptionally good rises occurred during bitterly cold

easterly winds and plenty of fish were taken on dry flies (mainly on the Bankside

Pool). Boathouse has fished steadily producing 14 fish on Saturday for a total of

56lbs 12oz. Davie Simpson had 4 for 16lbs 8oz. Small lures including Damsels

have been the most consistent. Burnside has been a bit erratic but the Murry's

had 11 fish between them on catch and release and on the fly front the Diawl

Bach, Yellow Dancer and the SparlyDamsel have all proved successful. The

Bankside Pool gas really hit form recently. On Friday there was 38 fish taken

on catch and release whilst on Saturday 51 fish were released and a further 15

taken for a total weight of 41lbs 8oz. Robert Kydd and his group had 13 fish for

36lbs. The best flies have been the Damsel, Buzzers and the Diawl Bach. The

any legal method Woodside Pool also peaked on Saturday when 21 fish were

caught for a combined weight of 32lbs 8oz. Green Powerbait maintained its

position as the premier bait.

ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) With the rise in temperature at the weekend the fish are

being caught higher up, just under he surface where they are taking smaller flies

as well as the usual mini lures. Let's hope that cold east wind does not come

back and we continue with some warm dry weather. On Saturday the Alexander's

FFC had a good outing catching plenty of fish and the outing was won by

D McCormack who had 4 fish for 11lbs on a Fab Blob. Also doing well was

Veronica Lusher from Perth who had a nice brace weighing 5lbs 4oz on Buzzers,

William Alexander, Menstrie, 2 fish for 6lbs 12oz on a Black & Green Fritz, K
