Lake of Menteith fishing report
Tel/Fax 01877 385664
www.menteith-fisheries.co.uk
Lake of Menteith 6th
6ft Water Temperature 8.5C , Clarity (Secchi disc) 2.0m.
Angler’s should be
aware that the catering
van is non operational
and teas and coffees
are available free from
inside the fishery hut.
A colder week saw many
more regulars terminating
hibernation and putting in an
appearance at the Lake.
Ospreys and Martins are
now in abundance and most
of the fishing activity has
been in the eastern basin –
and in Gateside Bay. A
variety of methods have
April
worked. Cormorants and blobs on a sink tip
today and also on intermediate lines. The latter
has perhaps been more popular in windy and or
bright conditions, but it is horses for courses.
Yesterday the SPRA (Scots Police Recreational
Assoc) weighed in 85 fish for 206lbs and
returned 71, which gives you an idea of how
the place is fishing. A picture (this stotter on
the left was taken by Colin Riach) tells a
thousand words and its also a lot quicker at
filling the page……..have a good weekend!
Above Ewan Crawford from ayrshire with an
8lb beaut and a good bag for Gavin Dunn
(right). More photies on the website report.
