The following reports are for the week ending Sunday, 26 February, 2012.
1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) The fishery will open on Thursday 1st March when dark
coloured lures fished deep are likely to do best.
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
3. HOLL (Fife) NO REPORT UNTIL MARCH 2012
4. MARKLE (East Lothian) Keith Watson from Newcastle used a Bloodworm to take
3 fish weighing 12lbsw 7oz, Tommy Dickson, Dunbar, had a nice rainbow of 9lbs
4oz on a Damsel and Andy Adshead, Edinburgh, bagged one at 9lbs 6oz on a Black
Fritz. Jim Skilling from Shotts had the fish of the week – a cracking rainbow that
tipped the scales at 10lbs and fell for a Damsel Nymph and The Scottish Team fund
raiser was the competitors catching and releasing no fewer than 230 fish with the
winner being Alan Grant from Edinburgh with a total of 13.
5. MORTON LOCH (Livingston) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
6. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The weather, although changeable, was much milder
last week and extremely good for February and compared to last year it is great.
The fish are being caught about 3 - 5 feet down with a wide variety of colours, with a
very slow retrieve as the water is still cold.
Hamish Carmichael from Alloa had 3 fish for 8lbs on a Black Fritz, Tam McEwan,
Stirling, 4 for 13lbs 3oz on a Pink Blob, John Gilchrist, Stirling, 3 for 9lbs 4oz on a
Cat, Ian Sloan< Almondbank, 4 for 9lbs on a Pinkie & Gold Fritz and Jim Alexander,
Perth, 2 for 6lbs on a Green Blob. Ross Carnegie from Dunfermline used a Black
Damsel to take 2 for 5lbs, Paul Shepherd, Bedford, 3 for 8lbs 8oz on a Green
Damsel, Harry Graham, Glenrothes, 4 for 12lbs on a Black Fritz and Gordon Gelletly
from Stirling caught 2 for 5lbs 4oz on Buzzers.
7. ORCHIL LOCH COARSE PONDS (Braco) NO REPORTS UNTIL MARCH 2012
8. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The wind was the dominant feature this week at
Swanswater with some days being very breezy. For most of the week the fish were
in front of the island, round the back of the islands and in the far bay, although on
Sunday they moved to the dam area.
