2011.The following report is for the week ending Sunday, 30 October 2011.
1. FRANDY (Gleneagles) NOW CLOSED UNTIL SPRING 2012
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) Heavy rain disrupted the fishing at
Kingennie during the early part of the week. However, as the days progressed so
too did the quality of the returns, which included some good bags of fish and several
specimens. By the weekend the water had cleared & levels were near perfect. There
was plenty of action on lures as the trout began to switch on to feeding on fry.
The Boathouse produced a number of decent returns including two fish for 12lbs for
Mr. Paul, Mr. Kidd had 2 for 11lbs 12oz and Mr. Smith caught 2 for 11llbs. Nomads
and Hot-Head Damsels were amongst the top flies, especially when coupled with a
swift retrieve.
On Burnside a number of fish in excess of 2lbs 8oz were taken and catches
included Mr. Wilson with 5 for 12lbs, Mr. Thomson took 4 for 7lbs 8oz and Mr.
Busher had 4 for 7lbs 8oz.
The Bankside returned high numbers of fish to a wide variety of flies including
Buzzers, Viva, Diawl Bach and Floating Fry. Best of the catches included 4 fish for
10lbs for Mr. Jackson, Mr. May had 2 for 4lbs 8oz, Mr. Howlett took 2 for 4lbs 8oz
and R Spence had two for 6lbs including a rainbow weighing 4lbs.
The all legal method pond, the Woodside enjoyed some excellent fishing with a
number of fish in excess of 2lbs being taken. Pride of place went to six year old
Daniel Castro who landed a 4lbs 4oz rainbow on his brand new rod with green
Powerbait being the successful attractant. Congratulations to Daniel!
3. HOLL (near Kinross) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
4. MARKLE (East Lothian) It was a relatively quiet week but those who fished had
some good fish with Andy Adshead from Edinburgh taking the biggest at 16lbs 2oz
on a Black & Green lure. Gordon Bunce from Edinburgh used a Bloodworm to catch
a 12lb specimen, Alan Jones, Edinburgh, had one at 11lbs on a Bloodworm and

5. MORTON FISHERY (Livingston) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
6. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) Last week the weather was very changeable weather
and the forecast is not always right which unfortunately makes the anglers stay away
when it actually turns out to be a better day than the forecast indicated.
on we just have to take each day as it comes and hope it is not such a severe winter
as last year.
as warm as usual with the poor summer but we have had the wettest year I can
remember and certainly the worst harvest we have ever had.
The fish are still moving on the top and there have been a few anglers still using and
getting fish on the dry fly, but it is mainly the Damsel, Hare's Ear, Yellow Dancer and
various Fritz patterns that have been doing well.
Dave Wilkie from Stirling caught 5 fish weighing 14lbs 4oz on a Hot Head Damsel,

The fishing has been good all season because the water never got

7. ORCHIL LOCH COARSE PONDS (Braco) NEXT REPORT SPRING 2012
8. SWANSWATER (Stirling) The mild autumn weather led to excellent fishing
conditions and some great catches this week. Although the weather was changeable
the fish seem to be settled into good feeding patterns and are being caught all
around the ponds. The boats were doing very well on certain days, whereas on
other days the channel between the island and the roadside was the place to be.
The small ponds continue to fish very well and are providing anglers with a lot of
excellent sport. Early in the week the fish were quite deep in the water but towards
the weekend they were being taken in the top two feet. Favourite patterns included
Buzzers, Ace of Spades, Damsel, Yellow Dancer, Montana, Cat’s Whisker and
Cormorant, with fish also still being taken on wet flies especially on the small ponds.
There were some excellent catch returns this week including Geoff Gilbert, on
holiday from Peel on the Isle of Man, who took 18 for 66lb 8oz in 6 outings, with
his best bags being 5 for 25lb including Blues at 8lb 1oz and 7lb 4oz, and 3 for
14lb including 7lb 7oz Rainbow. John Mooney, Queenzieburn, took the biggest
