Servicemen’s A/C managed 7 fish for 17lb 8oz, Perth RASC A/C took 4 fish weighing
11lb and Tillicoultry A/C kept 10 fish weighing 29lb.
The best taking flies and lures included the Bibio Hopper, Heather Fly, Kate
McLaren, Dancers and Damsels and again all areas of the loch are performing well.
2. FORBES OF KINGENNIE (Broughty Ferry) The fishing last week at Kingennie
has been affected by the rain with the water levels rising and a fair bit of colour in the
water The anglers who had the best sport were on Bankside with the water staying
reasonably clear.
The Boathouse has been holding a fair bit of colour but anglers have found fish
holding close to bottom where intermediate lines have been the best combined with
big lures. Biggest fish of the week went to Mr Baxter from Leven who managed a
cracking rainbow of 9lb 8oz in his bag of 2 for 16lb 4oz both fish were caught on an
intermediate line with a home tied lure.
Burnside has fished well to dries this week with the best of the sport coming in the
evening when the small Floating fry, Sugar Cube Shipman, Yellow Owl, CDC and
CDC Hoppers have all done very well. Most anglers have had no problem reaching
their limits.
Some of the Bankside regulars have reported seeing some huge brownies and
rainbows this past week fish well into double figures have been spotted and one
very large rainbow has been hooked and lost on more than one occasion. The
Bankside has fished best of all the ponds with the water clarity being very good and
anglers are having great sport on dries of all sorts. Some catch and release anglers
have been taking up to 20 fish a session with all manner of flies have done well on
Bankside with old favourites like the Bloodworm, Yellow Dancer, Orange Nomads,
and Blobs all doing well. The list of dries that have caught fish would be too long to
list but most have some CC in them.
The Woodside has been a wee bit slower than normal with the fish sitting very low
in the water but anglers have found that fishing power bait just off the bottom has
produced the most fish with worms fished very deep on a float the next best thing.

5. MORTON FISHERY (Livingston) NO REPORT THIS WEEK
6. ORCHILL LOCH (Braco) The fish have been taking just under the surface or at
times a bit deeper as the water is a lot warmer on the surface although after last
weekend’s rain it will probably be a bit cooler.
taking fish including Dries, Damsel, Buzzers and great sport has been enjoyed.
Most anglers now know they can fish all round including behind the island and on
the road side - with springs all round it makes it more of a challenge. The Falcon Fly
Fishing Club had a good social and fishing day catching 37 fish for 96 lbs., with the
morning competition being won by Willie Barr with 4 fish for 11lbs 2oz and Garry
Borthwick had 5 fish for 14lbs 4oz to win the overall event.
